Mid to Senior Business/General Litigation Associate

Position Summary

Our Litigation Group is seeking a highly qualified Mid to Senior-Level Business/General Litigation Associate to join our dynamic legal team. The firm’s litigation practice spans commercial and business disputes, employment litigation, trusts & estates, real estate, and land use matters. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of litigation experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage complex cases with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage a caseload and take ownership over ensuring the progress of the case.
  • Draft pleadings, pre-trial motions, and oppositions with precision and clarity.
  • Initiate and respond to written discovery requests efficiently.
  • Take and defend depositions of clients, opposing parties, and third-party witnesses.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal and factual research to support court filings and client advice.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Attend pre-trial court appearances and represent clients confidently.
  • Assist senior litigation counsel in preparing for and participating in arbitrations and trials.
  • Contribute to post-trial motions and appellate briefs.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants, supervising their work to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications

  • Admitted to practice before the California Bar.
  • 5-8 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in civil and business litigation.
  • Strong reading comprehension, legal writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making, critical thinking, and active listening abilities.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly capable using legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw) and litigation support software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple priorities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation ranging from $160,000 to $210,000, depending on experience.
  • Immediate eligibility for 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Retirement Plans (subject to Plan eligibility requirements).
